How long does a session take?
Typical sessions run anywhere between 20-60 minutes. To receive the full benefits of NormaTec, we suggest using it for at least 20 minutes.
Can I use insurance as a form of payment?
No, we do not accept insurance policies. You can always ask your insurance provider if they can reimburse you, but we do not accept insurance for payment. Many of our clients use their health savings account cards just like a credit card.
What does it feel like?
The process feels like a very tight squeeze that works its way up from the body of the sleeve to the different chambers. This feels very relaxing and soothing. It is not painful but can be intense pressure.
Is there a temperature change?
No, there is not. Normatec uses compressed air generated from the motor that is connected to the hoses.
What should I wear?
We advise that you wear comfortable tight fitting clothes. The reason for this is at times the sleeves can compress and cause bunching of loose fitting clothing. This bunching can lead to discomfort.
What areas of the body can be treated?
Body Comp Cryo offers both arm and leg Normatec sleeves.
What are the advantages of Normatec?
Normatec pulse compression is most commonly used to help muscle recovery after intense physical activity or from post surgical inflammation. The system helps to break down the lactic acid in the muscle tissue leading to less pain.
Are there any contraindications?
Normatec should not be used if you have an open wound, deep vein clot, sutures or over an area of skin rash. In addition, the system should not be used in an area of broken bone or fracture.
Is there an age limit?
While there is no age limit. The Normatec sleeves need to fit properly. The sleeves Body Comp Cryo has available are best used in people who are at least 4 feet 8 inches tall and under 6 feet 5 inches.in height.
